New channels, old problems

The controversy over a recent discovery that Amazon appeared to have de-listed certain content, including a host of books with gay and lesbian content, erupted over the past weekend. It has been well-covered elsewhere, so I point to three good links:

  • Kassia Krozser, whose Booksquare post provides both history and a call to action;
  • Kat Meyer, in Follow the Reader, who provides a reminder of why Twitter and other social media matter;
  • and Richard Nash, offering a thoughtful piece on why this particular “glitch” is more painful and important than many others.
