Association Media and Publishing recently announced the full program for its annual meeting, which will take place June 1 – 3 in Washington, D.C.
The program this year has expanded to include three keynotes: Luke Hayman, a partner with Pentagram, a leading design firm; author and cartoonist Nick Galifianakis; and Sam Grawe, editor in chief at Dwell magazine.
The conference program also offers a choice of 18 concurrent sessions across six time slots. Topics include building community, branding, open-source publishing and “the perfect ad package”, among many. I’m presenting one of the concurrent sessions, “Should your association worry about piracy?“
As in past years, the conference starts with a half-day workshop, this year themed “Is mobile right for us?” The workshop includes presentations and discussions led by ASAE’s Amy Hissrich, Cecilia Satovich of Results Direct and Michael Scheevel of MultiView. I’ll be giving an overview of mobile reading and then moderating the rest of the event.
As the only organization focused solely on association publishing, AM&P offers a program that is hard to find at other association events. I’ve admitted my “participation bias”, and I still recommend taking a close look at this year’s conference.
