Between August 15th and August 18th, I’m scheduled to attend ASAE’s annual meeting and exposition, which will be held in Toronto. If you are also planning to be at the meeting and are looking to make some choices about what seminars or presentations you attend, I can recommend two speakers in particular:
Jim Kane, a senior fellow with the Brookeside Group, is a loyalty consultant who is speaking on Sunday (August 16th) at 3:15 p.m. on “Building and maintaining loyal relationships”. I heard Jim present on a parallel topic at an ASAE event in Montreal, and I highly recommend your making the time to join his session. In addition to preparing well, Jim really engages his audiences and carries his core messages all the way through to the final moment of his presentation.
On Tuesday (August 18th), the day begins at 9:00 a.m. with a “thought leader session” that features Clay Shirky, professor at NYU, social media guru and author of Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing without Organizations. Plenty of people claim to be social media experts; Clay Shirky sets the standard for the field.
