A couple of days ago, Peter Brantley pointed me to a New York Times article on the possible rebirth of independent film-making.
No, I’m not going omni-media here. The article talks about the growth of “do it yourself” films whose budgets are small and whose creative ambitions are larger. It reminds me of the disruption that has already affected periodical publishing.
That disruption could also impact book publishing, if issues of author care and effective marketing for smaller books are not addressed effectively. I’d call this “More weak signals”, but that name is already taken.
